Chil-dish

Memories from childhood center around events but also trends and other pop culture bits. The candy we used to buy, the slap wristbands that even boys wore, early mountain bikes that weiged as much as motor cycles. But today I was reminded of a show we used to watch it was called "De Fabeltjeskrant" translated: The fabel (or fairytale) News Paper, it was about Mr. Owl who read the paper and the stories came to life with a host of characters that lived in the fairytale forrest. Sounds like a weird premise for a show right? We loved it.

Friends and Protagonists

A few good friends of ours have moved out of state in the past few weeks. It seems to welcome forming new friendships, but nothing compares to the old ones. Change is good but not all kinds I guess.

I found that its hard to write a story if there is no plot line and McKee recommends also that a protagonist needs to overcome something and have a conscious or unconscious desire for something. Why does it have to be that way all the time? Why can't a protagonist do something else? Would a reader enjoy such a character? Probably not because they would be used to the later.
